What are series?
Series is a powerful feature that allows practitioners to track appointments with a client under a defined series, where settings can differ from other client appointments.
A common example is handling insurance cases. Here, the client has a specified number of covered sessions, the insurance company is the invoice recipient, and the invoice must include specific details like a case ID.
Series can be a handy feature in any case where there's someone other than the client paying for the session, there is limitations to the amount of services or the invoice needs to include certain specifications.
How to Create a Series
Go to the client’s profile and the Appointments tab.
Click the small arrow next to + New Appointment.
Name the series and fill in other information, then click Create.
Congratulations! You've now created your first series. The next step is to log hours towards the series.
How to Log Hours towards a Series
Create an appointment as usual in the calendar.
In the dropdown for Series and service, you will now see a list of active series on this client and your default treatment services.
When selecting a series, a second dropdown menu will appear where you can select the treatment service.
Complete the appointment setup per usual and click Add appointment.
That's it!
If you now head back to the Appointments tab in the client record, you'll see that appointments logged to the series will be clearly marked with the series name. If you set a maximum number of appointments, the series now also tracks the number of sessions towards the limit.
The series functionality is being developed further with more settings and features to come.
