Setting Up Session Packs (Prepaid Packages)

Learn how to configure a paid package service and a £0 follow-up service in Konfidens to offer prepaid session packs, and how to track remaining sessions using recurring appointments or treatment series.

This article shows you how to configure the two services required to offer prepaid session packs (also known as "flerpakke" packages) to your clients in Konfidens.

Prerequisites

  • You must have admin permissions in your practice to create or edit services.

1. Open the services setup page

  • Go to Clinic, then Services.

  • Select New service.

  • You'll create two separate services here to support the prepaid package workflow.

2. Create the package service (e.g. "Course of Five")

  • Represents the complete package (e.g. a five-session block).

  • Set the price to the full cost of all five appointments.

  • Set the duration to match only the first appointment.

Result: when a client books this service for the first time, they book their first session and pay for the entire package in one transaction — for example, a 45-minute appointment priced at £500.

Name this service clearly, such as "Course of Five – Individual Therapy," so it's easy to identify when booking.

3. Create the follow-up service (prepaid, £0)

  • Name it something like "Follow-up Sessions (Prepaid)."

  • Give it the same duration as a normal session.

  • Set the price to zero.

Once a client has paid for the initial package, invite them to this follow-up service for each subsequent appointment — it's already been paid for upfront.

Double-check that the price on this follow-up service is set to zero — this is what prevents clients from being charged again for sessions they've already prepaid.

With both services created, you're ready to book the initial package appointment and schedule the remaining prepaid sessions. Konfidens gives you two ways to do this — choose based on how the client's remaining sessions are scheduled.

4. Choose how to track the remaining sessions

Option A: Recurring appointment — best when sessions happen at the same time each week

If the client will see you on a fixed weekly schedule, this is the simplest option.

  • Book the client into the follow-up (£0) service at their usual time slot.

  • Set the appointment to repeat weekly.

  • Enter the number of bookings equal to the remaining sessions in the package (e.g. four, if the first of five was already booked).

  • Click Invite client — all remaining appointments are created at once, each priced at £0.

Option B: Treatment series — best when appointment times vary, or for referrals with a fixed session count

If the client's remaining sessions won't fall on a predictable weekly slot, use a treatment series instead. This groups appointments together and automatically tracks how many of the paid sessions have been used.

  • Go to the client profile → Appointments, then use the dropdown next to New appointment, and select New series.

  • Name the series (e.g. "Course of Five") and set the maximum number of appointments to match the package — five, in this example.

  • Edit the initial appointment and, under Available series, assign it to the treatment series you just created.

  • For each subsequent visit, choose the same open series, and book the client into the follow-up (£0) service. The sidebar shows how many sessions have been used and how many remain.

As long as you remember to log each appointment against the series, Konfidens automatically prevents the client from using more than the sessions included in their package — useful for referrals with a defined number of paid sessions.
